Craig’s Doors - Amherst & Hadley, MA
Established in 2011, Craig's Doors is a human services organization that provides vulnerable and unhoused members of our community with emergency shelter, food, and safety, as well as access to the resources they need to achieve physical, mental, emotional, and social well-being.
Adhering to a "housing first" model, case managers at our year-round and seasonal emergency shelters work closely with guests to find sustainable, permanent re-housing that meets their needs, while connecting them with a wide network of partner service providers to coordinate other aspects of their care.
Craig’s Doors strives to cultivate a culture of mutual respect and perpetual positive regard in all we do. We believe that all human beings are deserving of safety, dignity, and a sense of belonging, and that access to housing, mental and physical health care, and nutritious food is a fundamental human right.
MANNA Community Kitchen - Northampton, MA
Manna Community Kitchen was founded in 1986 in Northampton. Presently, operating as a nonprofit organization, Manna provides over 7,000 meals each month. These meals are nutritious, free, and flavorful, served with dignity and respect and open to all.
While the number of meals served reflects part of our impact, our emphasis on providing high-quality food has cultivated a strong community bond. Our guests come from various backgrounds, but they are ultimately our neighbors and it our job to care for them. Additionally, Manna provides various services such as laundry and shower facilities, along with support for recovery, housing, health, and harm reduction. Our volunteers, which include local college and high school students, retirees, and other community members, play a crucial role by assisting, serving, and offering companionship and support to all who walk through our doors.
